Hawk!
Okay, this wasn't taken in my back yard but it was taken nearby in a residential area of central Austin. (Arroyo Seco and Justin Lane) Looks a lot like the guy in my back yard.

Yesterday the cat was sleeping on our kitchen table which is next to a "picture" window over looking our backyard. Out of nowhere comes a big crash into the window which, upon investigation, came from a good sized red tail hawk that was then sitting dazed just below the window. He left a feather smear on the glass but the cat never woke up. After about 2 minutes the hawk flew off.
Thanks for the Austin birding observations, I enjoy it.
